Beloved friend and prayer partner,

Rejoice with me once again! As you know, I am partnering with my friends Raymond and Mariette Lemaire at l'Église Sans Frontières (Church Without Borders). After the terrible earthquake in Haiti, a prophetic word addressed to me personally and two powerful messages preached by pastor Lemaire, I was moved in my soul to bring a series of five evangelistic messages at the church. Last Sunday, I preached the third message - Satan unmasked. Needless to say I began the series in fear and trepidation but I also called for a Saturday night prayer meeting before each outreach. I must confess that I felt like a dinosaur since many experts feel that in the post modern culture of today (and Quebec is very post modern!), one should no longer preach the Gospel and invite people to make a public commitment. As a young man, I was trained in this "Billy Graham way" of doing evangelism and this is the way I know best. The first Sunday, I explained that what I was about to do was considered by many to be obsolete. However, I felt that God was warning our culture to repentance. As I was preaching, the power and grace of God was moving amongst us and at the invitation, thirty-three people came forward to make a commitment to Christ. I have not seen this in my ministry in Quebec for many years. In all over 100 people have made a commitment in the last three evangelistic services. I will be speaking the Gospel again next month and finishing my series in July. Would you please pray that God's anointing would continue to flow upon me and in the services. I am awed, humbled, broken, and full of gratitude to God. And I have become cognisant of the fact again that I feel the spiritual opposition when I preach the Gospel which I don't feel when I simply teach God's Word to the church. Please also pray for my spiritual protection.

I was made aware of a need in Africa and my heart was full of anguish because we only had a few hundred dollars left in our account and could not help. I told the Lord how can I give what I do not have? And yet, the plea was so heart wrenching that it continued to haunt me. During this time, I went to our mail box and there, miraculously, was a substantial gift sent by a precious brother from Saskatchewan. He had no idea of our need. I was able to help out this crisis because of this divinely appointed gesture. I am grateful to each one of you who stands with us in prayer and with your financial support.

My book is almost finished. What an experience! There were moments of great inspiration and there were moments of great perspiration! But thanks be to God I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I trust this introduction to theology or more precisely this study of the nature and attributes of God will be a blessing to the French-speaking world.

I have been invited to return to Africa in the Fall. I would like to go and serve the Lord in that part of the vineyard and once again I am dependant upon Him and upon your kindness and generosity. Thank you for allowing me to come into your home this way. I am truly grateful for concerned brothers and sisters who care about the furtherance of the Gospel and the poor.

Warmly and sincerely,

Dr. Walter De Sousa
